Shipping Large Items to Canada
Just wondering if anyone here has ever had a large or heavy item shipped up from the states. I think USPS max weight is 66 lbs or so, and I have vowed to never use UPS, so wondering what my options are.
I want to buy a used big bore sport bike engine (busa,blackbird,zzr1200,zx-11,thunderace,bandit 12,fj12) off ebay to try build a custom framed project. I find lots of American sellers willing to crate and wrap a motor, but I can never give clear shipping instructions. I have heard of using forward air, or Fed Ex freight, but was really looking for some feedback from someone who has done the same thing.

always a pain in the ass shipping from the states... brokerage and duty fees can cost you more then the item.. make sure you figure out all your numbers before you commit.. you could get a nasty surprise on pickup.

Assuming you're in Sherwood Park AB then you're nowhere near close enough to the border to get a PO box, if that's in fact where you are.
