    Next wave classics

I was looking at a 1973 Kawasaki H1 (Mach 3 500 2stroke triple) at the Alexandra show, and I wondered what would be the modern bike you'd all buy today that might become a classic?

In 1971 some of my mates had Mach 3s (I couldn't afford one) but who would have guessed that they'd become an icon (apart from downright unrideable dangerous and terrifying fast) ?

    So...
What would you buy today that's affordable and expect to find on the stage at Alexandra in 30 years? (TL ?)

Maybe the TL(S) short production, bad press. I don't think I've heard of a bike being ragged on as much since.

Maybe an original CBR900RR, still available but hardly current nearly not even modern, no EFI etc - got a bit of a head start with age too.

(edit: The Mach III gets a bit of a mention in this http://turbo.discovery.com/beyond/?p...eId=1454865196 )

No but it was like this one.

The older ones were wilder, plain colours and white-knuckle drum brakes.

My guess is that a clean, stock TLS will be be pretty special in 30 years, dito for a 916. Perhaps also some of the turbocharged bikes from the 80's Wouldn't surprise me even if the first year for various models became fairly desirable - CRB900RR, R6, R1, ZX10 etc
