I can see both sides of this issue. I've wadded a bike (the 98 TLR) up being a complete Ftard (100mph in a 45mph on a military base) and have since learned that notching it back some is still fun and much safer for yourself and others. I guess wsmc831 would have griped at me over the net too for my actions but whatever. Personally when I'm on the bike I ride like a little old lady when I'm in FL but when I'm in the car it's a different story. I feel that FHP has it in for people on crotchrockets due to the reputation that the 120mph, flipflop, shorts, and no helmet wearing squids have gained for the sport. Not having the endorsement has been beat to death but I'll point out some issues that I saw besides that. As for mods to turnsignals and other components. Modifications are legal (I agree that some of the requirements change a little from state to state) as long as they meet the Fed DOT requirements. Most aftermarket exhausts don't meet this and are stamped for off road use only but some of them are legal. Flushmounts are out for turnsignals due to spacing requirements, coloration, and size. Oh and BTW wsmc831 the OP wasn't the one who was advocating running to avoid the $1200 ticket/court costs that was amean94ta.
